My First Blog

Well, strictly speaking I've had a 'blog' on LiveJournal before, but this is the first real blog I've ever attempted. Since October 2008 I've been keeping a hand-written journal that I write in every night before bed, to keep track of what I'm up to, with notes on what I've been watching or reading. Unfortunately, since I'm normally tired before bed, I could never be bothered to write that much. A typical weekday entry can consist of: 'Work. Watched: Alias, Mock the Week. Reading: Wanting to Believe.' And that's it. Not very exciting. And such an entry doesn't give any kind of indication whether it was worth watching a specific show or movie. And it's not very interesting to read back. 

So, in this blog I want to review the books I'm reading, movies I'm watching, etc. to try to tease out what it is that I enjoy about them. And without sounding preteniously wanky maybe that'll help me discover more about my tastes, as eclectic as I believe them to be.
